Master the Art of Getting Ready for a Birthday Celebration!

Each August we celebrate our birthday in a major way! We’re talking giveaways, in-store events, special surprises and more. As much as we love a good event, we understand that getting ready can be a source of stress. It’s only fitting our founder, Lily Garfield, has mastered the art of getting ready for big events. Here’s the 411 on how she gets ready to attend a soiree.

Getting ready for a party? Easy enough. First, I cleanse my skin; I spend a ton of time outdoors hiking or golfing so this is a top priority for me. I use my Mia 2 Clarisonic with my cleanser of the moment to get excess sunscreen off my skin. Prior to applying makeup, I put on Patchology Eye patches to brighten my eyes. These little patches help give the appearance that I slept my full 8 hours. They’re also a lifesaver after the party.
For makeup, Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Ochre blends easily into my skin tone and I’ve been loving Serge Lutens Compact Foundation in I-40. I blend products with the Artis Oval 7, so I have that no-makeup, airbrushed look. To finish my evening glow, I turn to Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate and highlight my upper cheeks and outer eye area. Of course, as I always say, you’re never completely dressed without a fragrance. I love a light summer fragrance this time of year so I turn to MFK Amyris Femmé.
