Parisian Beauty Rules

Ask Ilona a question

The allure of French beauty can’t be denied. Red lips, poreless skin, tousled hair... We love our Parisian brands and celebrate the chance to showcase their unique style. It’s not out of the ordinary to drop by one of our stores and see our specialists emulate that certain je ne sais quoi which seems so effortless in Paris. With years of makeup artistry experience, and a self-proclaimed Francophile, our Store Manager Ilona from Edwards, Colorado shares a few Parisian beauty rules to live by.

Rule 1:

Skincare reigns supreme when it comes to that seemingly effortless look. Sisley-Paris, a botanical-based brand, boasts some of my favorite skincare products. I love to start with the Black Rose Oil for a beautiful glow.

Rule 2:

Dewy skin: we’ve been seeing this trend for quite some time and it's here to stay! To create an all over glow, Parisian brand Dior recommends highlighter first followed by your face cream for a super glow. The look is soft and romantic.

Rule 3:

A chic red lip is a French standard. Sisley does red like no other with their Phyto Lip Twist. A softer red lip is user-friendly and encompasses chic. I typically blend with Cos Bar's Lip Brush to give lips a worn-in allure.

Rule 4:

In order to celebrate french beauty properly, you need a cat eye. Nothing is more effortless than a winged look. Grandiôse Eyeliner from Lancôme creates a lined look that gets it right every time. Add a touch of texturizing spray to your hair and voilà, you’re set for the day!
