The Best Beauty Sleep of Your Life

By Cos Bar 1 years ago No comments

And just like that daylight savings came upon us. Losing an hour of sleep may not be the easiest thing to deal with, but we’ve got some #beautyelevated recommendations on how to make sure that you’re well-rested whether you’re traveling, have children, or just simply need some much needed self-care. Read on for words of wisdom from our VP of marketing and (very tired) mother of two, Mimi Slater.

Q: What are some of your resting tips during travel?
A: I love a nap, even on a plane. I have a white noise app that I play with my noise-canceling Bose headphones. If you don’t have an app, a downloaded Spotify track before you go also works. I bring my own Slip Sleep Mask and a blanket I can throw in the wash (I’m as serious about germs as I am about sleep). Obviously, this only applies if traveling without children!

Q: What about travelling with children?
A: I have a million tips for plane travel with kids (wipes, snacks, extra clothes for everyone, crayons, a loaded iPad, separate carry-on for each kid, ziplocks, toys- the list is endless but effective), but as far as beauty rest goes, I expect very little when we’re on-the-go. I try to get the kids on the new time zone asap and know that a travel day is going to be a total mess.

Q: What beauty items do you love for travel to maintain freshness?
A: I bring my Clé de Peau lip balm and Augustinus Bader rich face cream on the plane so my skin stays hydrated. We have tiny empties at Cos Bar so I can bring small amounts of my products with me. I’ve also been obsessed with the new eye mask from Clé de Peau to keep my eyes de-puffed and hydrated. Also - lots and lots of Patchology wipes!

Q: Tips for resting at home?
A: I always have a glass of water next to the bed. Waking up thirsty is SOS. In drier climates, a humidifier is also a must. I love the warm mist version from Vicks. I also try not to look at my phone if I wake up in the middle of the night. That’s the kiss of death.

Q: What are the best accessories for a good sleep?
A: A good sound machine, Slip Sleep Mask, blackout shades, noise canceling headphones, This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, HUM Beauty zzZz supplements, and a super-moisturizing sleep mask like the one from AmorePacific.

Thanks, Mimi for your awesome tips! We’re also taking inspiration from our founder Lily Garfield, who reminds us to be grateful for this time with more sunlight. Lily says, “[Daylight savings] just means I can play longer! I have more time in the day to enjoy the things I love; spending time with family and friends.”

Now we’re definitely ready to rest and hustle one #beautyelevated day at a time.
